The Nick Jones Foundation

The Nick Jones Foundation for Bereaved Children

It is with much regret that I have to share with everyone that the Foundation has had to close.

Sadly the number of Trustees needed to run the Foundation has reduced over the last couple of years and despite appeals for new Trustees we have been unable to recruit any. This has meant the Foundation has been unable to operate within its constitution and has been unable to hold regular meetings due to other commitments of some of the existing Trustees. All of the Trustees have tried hard to keep the Foundation running but we have come the point where we have to accept that is no longer possible.

The Trustees would like to thank everyone that has supported the Foundation through donations, volunteers who have helped at events and of course the Trustees that have helped run the Foundation in the past.

Nick’s Foundation has helped many local families over the years and we can all be proud of the help and support we have been able to offer those families when they needed it most.

After much deliberation we have identified a similar charitable organisation to pass on the money we have left in the Foundation’s account to. The organisation is called Wiltshire Tree House which is a charity based in Swindon that offers support for families and children that have suffered a bereavement. The funds will be transferred upon final confirmation of the Foundation’s closure by the Charity Commission.

Once again thank you to everyone who has supported the Foundation over the years.

Kerry Wilson Chairperson

Nick was hoping to create publicity through various organised events to help to raise awareness of the families that are left behind to deal with bereavement. The courage and strength it took him to continue fighting and not give up is the very essence of what the Nick Jones Foundation for Bereaved Children embodies and he aims for this to continue on his passing. The charity is his legacy, his family’s pride and our inspiration.

Unfortunately Nick passed away in November 2020 after suffering a heart attack. Nick will be remembered through his actions and of course his Foundation ’The Nick Jones Foundation for Bereaved Children.
